HOMED was created in July 1995 to meet the need for organized home health services.

The pioneering design of the Home Hospital and its upgrade to a “Very Acute Hospital in the Home”, quickly attracted lively investment interest.

In the year 2000, HOMED collaborated with the Hygeia Hospital and created the Hospital’s Home Care Department, which it undertook the design, management and coordination.

The research activity has yielded significant results:

• 6 medical devices (International Patents).
• History and medical examination coding system (Copyright).
• System for simultaneous supervision of the clinical course of a large number of patients (Copyright).

As part of the Educational Project, the following have been organized:

• Three Panhellenic Medical Conferences in Athens.
• An international conference in Dubai.
• Numerous Educational Medical Days in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larissa, Patras and Heraklion, Crete.

With a deep sense of Social Responsibility, HOMED has undertaken rich humanitarian action such as:

• Medical missions to small islands during the winter months.
• Support for the Child’s Smile.
• Financing the publication of the book “The Development of the Blind Child”
